Dollar Tree Hot Sauce
There are three brands of hot sauce currently being sold at my local Dollar Tree. They are Louisiana Supreme Hot Sauce, Texas Pete’s Original Hot Sauce, and Frank’s RedHot Original Hot Sauce. I was very curious as to how they compare to each other and I was wondering which one was the best deal so I decided to do a Dollar Tree Hot Sauce Comparison.
I bought one bottle of each sauce. They each cost a dollar but they were each in a different size bottle. Louisiana Supreme Hot Sauce was in the biggest bottle, it was 12 ounces. Texas Pete was in a 6 ounce bottle and Frank’s RedHot was in a 5 ounce bottle. Obviously, if you’re looking for sheer quantity of hot sauce for a dollar then Louisiana Supreme is the winner. However, if you’re like me and you’re looking for the best value for your money, then that’s not necessarily the case.
If hot sauce is not hot enough for me then I use more of it. If it’s too hot then I won’t use it at all. It needs to have just the right amount of heat. To compare the tastes, I poured a small amount of each into a small bowl. I then tasted each hot sauce on a piece of a bread stick and drank some water between each taste to clear my palate.
Taste Test Results
The Louisiana Hot Sauce was the first sauce that I tasted and it was very vinegary. I then tasted the Texas Pete Hot Sauce and I liked the flavor much better. I wasn’t any hotter than the Louisiana Supreme but it tasted more like hot peppers than vinegar. The third sauce I tried was the Frank’s RedHot which was my favorite. It was the thickest of the three sauces, it tasted like hot peppers, and it was hotter than the other two. Overall, it would be the best value for me even though it was in the smallest bottle because it was the one that had the best flavor and heat level, therefore, I wouldn’t have to use as much.
